I was very impressed with this woman! Unfortunately, I lost the detailed review I wrote on her before it got typed, but suffice it to say that she had a solid career in the US, lived in Germany for 10 years, had numerous surgeries, a disastrous relationship, and now she’s back in the US, Her singing career began singing Tejano in New Mexico, and she spanned being a folk singer-songwriter, singer of Border Music and Americana, before landing solidly in the country genre.I really enjoyed the more south of the border flavored tunes; I found it interesting how she combined those elements with country through her beautiful voice. Every single song is good, but 2, 4, 7,**8 and 10 were especially good.
.Med - title track, upbeat country tinged Americana vibe
.slow/med - romantic tribute to the mission bells of her hometown
.slow/med - gentle, meandering tune
.slow/med - Patsy Cline style bittersweet shuffle
.slow/med - saddle music, slow country rock
.Med - upbeat tune co-written by son, Adan Hinojosa-Barker
.med -Tejano style cover of T. Henderson’s song about an immigrant mother
.Slow -Mexican classic made country with pedal steel, fiddle and accordion
.slow/med - sweet song about roses and dreams
.Slow - gentle song about her beloved guitar
.Med - cover of a monkee’s hit with Michael Martin Murphey (her mentor of old)
.Slow - version of Jimmy LaFave’s song dedicated to a dear friend
.Slow- uplifting tune, REALLY nice end to album
