Nice, clear vocals highlight this album full of interesting string dominant music. Not your usual country music here! Parts reminded me of some of the gypsy swing I’ve heard. I really didn’t think I’d like it, but I did, especially 4,7,9,11.

*1. 3:20 Slow/Med - Prominent bang in evocative lg band saddle music. smart, professional, pleasant
*2. Med - Upbeat country tune, about Sundays. You really hear all of the different strings
*3. Slow/Med - Story about NYC, really nice strings and hans
**4. Slow - honky-tonk style lyrics with Jazzy string backing - excellent jam
*5. Slow - Nice dramatic western love song
6. Slow - Feels like it should be a pivotal moment in a movie soundtrack. Vaguely spiritual feel
**7. Med - Great intro with springy instrument (Dobro?), song has traditional folk roots
*8. Story about a gambler, very nice accent strings in background
**9. Slow/Med - liv eversion in the troubadour tradition
10. Med - this song on title troubador is actually less troubadour-like than #9, but it’s still nice
**11. Med - I think I liked it from the first note, dramatic and gentle, interesting melange of styles
12. Med - Same vibe as #11, gentle reverent
