Atmospheric folk record from KZSU’s own DJ Away (!), themed around the recent fires in Northern CA. I recommend checking out the full description here https://distantreader.bandcamp.com/album/six-fires-in-northern-california
Related: Zelienople, Scott Tuma, Danny Paul Grody
Favorites: 2, 4, 5, 6
1. (4:26) Pocket—Drifting wispy panoramic guitars, soft mumbled vox
2. (10:40) * Nuns (After Scott Tuma)—Steadily evolving optimistic guitars, last four minutes are closer to drone
3. (3:23) Sulphur—Somber, meditative ambient guitars. Very soft
4. (8:07) * Tubbs—Depressing apocalyptic guitars and unsettling drums, some strands of voice
5. (4:54) * Redwood Valley (After Airs No. 8)—Another somber guitar track with a fuller sort of brushed glow
6. (6:01) * Atlas (Heat)—Bit more hopeful, this time more of a standard folk structure, clear vox throughout
