Five best friends from Phoenix, AZ make heart-on-sleeve pop rock that’s equal parts Third Eye Blind and Ryan Adams. At their recent SF show frontman John Cornelius O’Callaghan V brought a local dad onstage to sing along to a song called “Girls Do What They Want”. Driving drum sequences, riffs, and John’s raspy Arizonian drawl define this windows-down masterpiece in friendship and nostalgia. Love! Related: Third Eye Blind, Ryan Adams, The Replacements, @johnmaine 1. (3:13) Don’t Come Down—Cheerful, dynamic. Nice breather towards the end. 2. (3:10) **** Bad Behavior—Total jam! Bright chord progressions, punchy vox, so terribly catchy. 3. (0:34) Lovely—Instrumental interlude. Synths, soft percussion, wordless vox. 4. (3:23) **** Black Butterflies and Déjà Vu—Driving, relentless, beautiful. 5. (3:07) **** Taxi—More subdued, acoustic. Builds into a gorgeous slow jam. 6. (3:02) *** Do You Remember? (The Other Half of 23)—Serious Third Eye Blind inspiration here. Incredibly driving and infectious. Huge sound. 7. (1:13) ** Little—Dreamy nostalgic interlude. Clouded vox and acoustic guitars lead into the next track (play together). 8. (3:30) **** The Sound of Reverie—Best track! Impassioned vocal delivery, chillingly-good 90s-inspired chorus. 9. (1:40) Lost in Nostalgia—Meditative bass-driven track. Dreamy keys, hazy vox. 10. (4:33) *** I Only Wanna Talk to You—Tribute to the more emo side of Third Eye Blind/Replacements. Solemn acoustic guitars, vox, very earnest. 11. (2:32) Lonely—Moody, weightless interlude. 12. (4:22) *** How Do You Feel?—Strong drum intro, great vocal delivery.
