On We Go- Kenia Brazilian jazz pop singer from Rio de Janeiro. Her sweet, mellow voice is carved out by life’s ups and downs and speaks to the heart! A mix of Portuguese and English tracks. FCCs: NONE 1. (3:22) On We Go- Jazz guitars, and soft, mellow vocals! A nostalgia about lost love and looking toward tomorrow. 2. (5:09) Summertime- Bass intro, a bit mysterious. Husky voice. A song about about growing u. 3. (5:25) Que Amor Esse- Very slow, melancholic. Jazz piano chords in background. Sung in Portuguese. Bittersweet love, saudade, confusion, 4. (5:50) Melancia- Jazz inspirations of an early morning aurora! Slow beats, percussion, electric guitar. 5. (4:56) Closer To Me- A soft wind intro brings us to an autumn afternoon filled with nostalgic hope for the future. Come close to me, and take me to the future. 6. (4:47) Pra Qu Que Inventaram A Bahia- Calm yet lively! Makes you want to visit Brazil. 7. (4:02) Coming Home- A song about identity, homelands, and nostalgia. The background music reflects the intense emotions experienced by the singer! 8. (4:56) Pretty World- Percussion and synthesizer. A few tidbits about the simple things that make life sweet and enjoyable. 9. (4:18) O Som Do Donato- Faster pace than rest of songs. A song for Donato. 10. (3:57) Illusion- Slow song that makes you want to close your eyes and examine your life. It’s hard not to find something in this song that you can identify with. 11. (4:01) Zureta- A bit sad and mysterious. A bit of discordant jazz. 12. (2:37) Nowhere man- A calm and reflective song to end the album. Maybe we can all find also find a bit our ourselves a bit like the “nowhere man”? |
