Catastrophic layers of high drama heaviness with classical overtones. Wailing androgynous vocal style like a deathcore banshee typecasts this stuff, permeates it if only at a low level. Contrasted with lovely choral operatic quality female vocs. Like early Jarboe era Swans taken to the next level. They contributed to the Wrekmeister Harmonies work and this fact is very evident. All tracks INCREDIBLE. It's like old Swans interpreted by a decaying corpse in a beautiful meadow growing lovely flowers upon itself.
1) (3:58) begins pretty w female vocs but quickly gets dark w the scream weird vocs, slow dirge 2) (4:27) tribal toms, female soaring vocs appear later 3) (2:34) serious wall of noise, pummels 4)* (6:03) heavy heavy rhythmic, scream vocs dominate, Swans come to mind 5) (4:07) old synth beat/rhythm reminiscent of that used by Trans Am, lush blankets of sound 6) (3:59) old synth remains, heavy wall of sound, melodic female vocs 7)* (5:59) big doomy midpaced head nodding explosions of dissonance, ends in a wall of noise and brass, blends into next 8)* (4:38) quiet piano and female vocs contrasted with noise sound bed, play w previous 9)* (7:23) good god: begins with spoken word poetry by woman followed by dark tribal heaviness, dramatic, builds into a monstrosity 10) (4:41) synth returns in start, slow plod w nice fem vocs, quite lovely, here's your flowers
