In the tradition of classic rock orchestral tribute albums and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Pink Floyd’s ninth recording, Wish You Were Here, The London Orion Orchestra has issued a new classical version of the LP called Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here Symphonic. The album has Alice Cooper as guest vocalist on a couple of tracks and all the guitar parts are courtesy of Steven McElroy and David Domminney Fowler from The Australian Pink Floyd Show. Overall the album stays very close to the original recordings, especially the guitar arraignments, but it’s the full classical treatment on most of the compositions that makes this new rendition a riveting oddity.
