Angels With Flaming Swords
This is Ekstasis' first release. No connection between this and Providence: "Search For The Holy Mountain" released in 1998 by another "Ekstasis". This new group seems to be living in some mythical place: allegedly, near Mount Olympia in Northern Washington State. The music they make reflects the idea of beautiful serene settings, contrasted with windy, lofty peaks and frozen lakes. Created entirely with Steel String guitar, (sometimes wordless) voices, violins and flutes with some acoustic drums added here and there. I'd call it serious, but the performing and composition style along with the choice of instruments may remind many listeners of the music soundtrack of a quest movie or video game...
7 tracks, 64 Minutes.
4 and 6 don't work for me quite as well, though.
Times and titles are in flyer, please save with the lovely lyric booklet.
