Split: Space Lady - outsider music supreme (think Wesley Willis). Burnt Ones - killer new pop space psyche. Orange Cake Mix, Flying Saucer Attack, Third Eye Foundation, Can come to mind.
Space Lady: Oh boy! Primo outsider stuff. Diane Kloba and The Jet Lady have nothing on her one woman Casio synth foray (okay, Wesley Willis tops her, but just barely). She sings covers, she sends messages. She needs to be heard (caution: do not listen to while intoxicated). Info: turns out she used to play a broken accordion on the streets of SF in the 70's, 80's (but of course...). Then she donned a weird helmet with a blinking light and played shows (this is ringing a bell now). These days she resides in Boston and puts out these gems that are on Spotifys list of "101 Strangest Records".
Burnt Ones: nice pop laden space psyche. Atmospheric kick ass trippy. How they decided to split with space lady is beyond me but I LOVE IT!
1) Space Lady (3:47) cover of Beatles across the universe: big synth tones, echoey vocs
2) (4:45) Casio type feel, beats, Bowie's Starman, upbeat silly
3)* (5:16) a song about environmental destruction, yikes
4)* (5:37) somewhere over the rainbow, oh god/ozzy help us
5)* Burnt Ones (5:00) very very quiet intro for good 20 seconds, lovely trippiness, krauty psyche
6) (3:21) downtempo buried beat, lovely echo layered synths, reminds me of flying saucer attack or third eye foundation, orange cake mix
7)* (4:45) first ten seconds are almost sound-free (start early) a lovely ballad, love song synth heavy, melodic with a sweet hook
8) (3:05) mid paced trippy pop
