Album Review
DJ Away
Reviewed 2015-09-27
Lush, warm, languid kosmiche/new-age/ambient-drone from one of the three former members of Emeralds. Big, beautiful, wide-eyed pieces that range from the sad to the urgent to the placid to the playful. Favorites: 1, 2, 5, 8. No words, no FCCs.

1. *(5:57)—Slow, melancholy, droning, windswept, gorgeous.
2. *(7:33)—Lots of soft, slow, minor-key arpeggiated synths.
3. (3:10)—Chilly, watery, with lots of reverb.
4. (4:25)—Pretty, peaceful, reminds me of the old computer game Glider PRO. Anyone remember that?
5. *(5:02)—Pulsing marimba synths. Spacy 80s action soundtrack.
6. (1:23)—Classic-sounding arpeggiated synths.
7. (5:28)—Pulsing, sawing string synths—Koyaanisqatsi Philip Glass crossed with James Ferraro's peppier stuff.
8. *(4:23)—Sad, chilly, beautiful synth piano.
9. (5:03)—Intense, skyward, hyper arpeggiations.
10. (6:18)—Spacier, with minimal beats.
11. (5:04)—More classic, starry-skied kosmiche sounds.
12: (5:35)—Upbeat marimba synths and pulsing synth bass.
13. (3:56)—Calm, watery, happy.
14. (3:48)—Sweeping, dramatic, with a long, soft fadeout.
