Baltimore duo, man on synths, woman behind drums, create a divine melding of all things krautrock and synth pop. Very much channeling the spirit of all things Neu and Kraftwerk. Submerged female vocs in places also bring to mind Stereolab (but sans preciousness). First two tracks have vocs and remainder are perfect dabblings in rhythm tone and ADSR. Fans of Eno, Tangerine Dream, early Moon Duo. Frippian time signatures. Beautiful stuff. All tracks are great, pick any really. 1) (4:29) begins w simple synth then an offtime beat, kraftwerk/Neu love, w female vocs 2)* (6:56) atmospheric synths over simple drums to start then little melodic percussy tones add to mix in an epic fadion, with vocals 3)* (7:57) mathy complex rhythm, frippian almost 4) (5:57) midpaced straighter forward rhythm, back vocs appear later in a Stereolab fashion (no words, ahhhs instead) 5) (6:15) urgent double time drums under a slow phrased chill feel evolves into yet another epic masterpiece 6) (4:58) pleasant simple feel, very nice | ||
