Scandinavians really have perfected the Atmospheric/Depressive/Melancholic corner of the market and Acacia is testament to that. Hailing from Sweden, this 6 piece outfit makes the soundtrack for your wallowing sorrows. Sounding like Draconian, Theater of Tragedy and Elend put together, this is one band that is nearly as depressive as Omit.

Review: Dark Emperor

FCC Clean - all sung in Swedish!

Play: ALL

1. (06:32) ? Mid-tempo atmospheric piece that is both somber and haunting.... but it just sets the tone. (5 out of 5)
2. (11:51) - Crushing riffage slowly emerges paired with harsh vocals, and then there is light with some angelic clean female vox. (5 out of 5)
3. (17:08) - Black Metal sections thrown into the depressive calmness of the music = brilliant cathartic moments. ( 5 out of 5)
4. (11:49) - Bleak piano interludes greatly contrast the harsh riffs and drums. Amazing track. (5 out of 5)
5. (14:04) - In case you didn't have enough, here is another 14-minute onslaught of pure melancholy. (5 out of 5)
