Ok so here is the deal, Lorde curated the Hunger Games soundtrack and it is actually pretty awesome. It is super mainstream so some of you can stop reading right here, but in all seriousness, we have a new CHVRCHES track, a new Bat For Lashes Track, new Lorde, and a super awesome Chemical Brothers track. I was very pleasantly surprised by this. FCC CLEAN!! Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14 1. (4:03) Meltdown - This is a rap song with Lorde on the chorus, it is kind of awesome. Cool beat, keyboard breakdowns. Super cool harmonies from the HAIM girls and verses from Q-Tip and Pusha T?! No complaints here :) 2. (3:14) Dead Air - So excited for a new CHVRCHES song. Sounds like CHVRCHES and its fucking awesome. 3. (3:35) Scream My Name - I have actually been super into Tove Lo lately, great track, mid tempo alt pop. 4. (4:05) Kingdom - Cool and playful piano backing, singsongy, and builds into a really cool song with distorted drum machines, strings...love it. 5. (3:32) All My Love - Not my favorite but I am not an Ariana fan...the beat is cool though, obviously, thanks Major Lazer. 6. (2:53) Lost Souls - This one is kind of boring. 7. (3:55) Yellow Flicker Beat - This is the new Lorde single, it is awesome (if you like Lorde, which I do). 8. (4:07) The Leap - Also boring. 9. (2:30) Plan The Escape (Son Lux Cover) - I was beyond excited to hear Bat For Lashes on this. It is weird and etherial and great. 10. (4:21) Original Beast - This is a weird tribal dance song, it is for others. 11. (4:13) Flicker (Kanye West Rework) - Slower and creepier version of the Lord single, brought to you by Kanye. 12. (3:19) Animal - This one is catchy but super weird and not super good. 13. (3:15) This Is Not A Game - THIS CHEMICAL BROTHERS TRACK IS AMAZING!!! I was blown away by this one, the beat is out of control and the Lorde sample is perfect, new favorite guilty pleasure. 14. (3:16) Ladder Song - Lorde covers Bright Eyes, and it is actually good. | ||
