Haunting gorgeous soundscapes of saxophone, viola, and synth. Dirty Beaches has made the full transformation from Lynchian rockabilly to unstructured ambient wandering. This is his final album under the moniker, and boy is it a beauty. One of my favorite experimental releases of the year. (7:27) Distressed. Coyotes yelping at night. (11:22) A photo album found in a gutter. You recognize one of the faces, but forget how you met the person. (7:27) You get up from bed and turn off the fan. Drift through the silence.
