As Reviewed By Mister Esquire. C-86/goth pop/britpop/shoepop/'dirty doo wop'. heavy Cure/Smiths vibe. influences go from there through mid 90's, back to 50's, blah blah, but essentially circa 86/87. very, very vintage. they even proclaim themselves to be 'dirty doo wop.' I don't know if they're British, but they might as well be. MR. ESQ. SEZ: MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW. FCC CLEAN. SOUNDS LIKE: CURE, SMITHS, CROCODILES, WEEKEND, PULP, GENE LOVES JEZABEL, LOVE LANGUAGE, SOMEONE I'M NOT QUITE PLACING AT THE MOMENT, ET AL. PLAY: ANY/ALL/RANDOMEOW/GO COMEOWTOSE. 1. PURR-FECT II: slow, mid, building, forlorny pop. but he'll make it through all the mopery. he's got hope=he's Morrissy! (it's epic, baby!) 2. PURR-FECT: jangle sweet, brit poppy shoepop. slow to mid begin, gains momentum...rocks! 3. Cure w/Morrissy mewling. 4. almost Kiwi. trying to be ferocious. aww... 5. PURR-FECT II: slow to mid mewly. (gotta love the cheese!) 6. PURR-FECT II: a 50's prom feel, ala Shannon &The Clams. he's all in pain and stuff. then it gets all Curey. 7. PURR-FECT II: the lo-fi really rocks this. Crocodiles. almost Cloud Nothings. almost. 8. PURR-FECT II: fast, bashy, mewly. screamy at end. 9.
