Arc Iris is the debut album from Jocie Adams, a singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist (and former NASA researcher). Adams left the band, The Low Anthem, to create this eclectic, wide ranging, and enchanting solo album. This album is nearly impossible to categorize, ranging from folk, country, rock, classical, and jazz. I personally think this is an incredible album that everybody can find something they like. 1. Money Gnomes (3:43) - A song about anti-materialism. Americana sounds. Banjo, guitars, snares. "Love has no place in a dreary world. Obsessed with shiny things"
2. Lost on Me (4:24) - Piano, strings, and horns. Soft, yet mysterious.
*3. Whiskey Man (3:00) - Opens with sweet cello. Sad, slow, but beautiful folk-indie sounds.
*4. Canadian Cowboy (6:37) - Piano and horns. Delicate, jazzy vocals.
*5. Singing So Sweetly (3:52) - Playful, jazzy, cabaret sounds. Love this fun song with exciting piano and broad brass. "I am a kitty cat I keep on curling until I am a ball"
*6. Ditch (4:24) - Doo-wops, soulful love song.
7. Honor of the Rainbows I (2:58) - mythical, intermittent chanting
8. Honor of the Rainbows II (6:23) - Fluid, upbeat song with the mystical sounds of the first part.
9. Powder Train (4:12) - Mid-tempo country song about cocaine
10. Might I Deserve To Have A Dream (4:49) - Slow, soft song with electric guitar.
*11. Swimming (5:32) - Begins with staccato strings, Jazzy, fun vocals. Love, love, love.
