The Alvin brothers formed the seminal L.A. band The Blasters in the late ’70’s. Though The Blasters never played blues per se, the brothers were influenced by Broonzy and here they pay tribute with a fantastic rendering of 12 Broonzy gems. Broonzy is considered one the great early blues icons. Featuring Don Heffington (Dylan, Chuck E. Weiss, Emmylou Harris, etc.) on drums, ex-Blaster Gene Taylor on piano, and Bob Glaub (Dylan, Warren Zevon, etc.) on bass. Absolutely fantastic stuff!!!! Play any. No FCC’s. 1. (3:29) Mid.
