The Crookes are an indie-pop band out of Sheffield UK. Sounds like The Kooks meets The Smiths meets Arctic Monkeys. Great album. FCCs on the first two tracks.

FCCs: 1, 2
Recommended Tracks: 3, 6, 9

1. (3:05) Play Dumb - Peppy beat, great melody, FCC: Fuck
2. (3:01) Don't Put Your Faith In Me - More reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys. FCC: Fuck
3. ** (3:50) Echolalia - Very 80s feel. I love this guy's voice. Great melodic build into the chorus.
4. (3:18) Before The NIght Falls - Less love song more rock and roll.
5. (2:17) Holy Innocents - Starts with piano only, quite vocals, drums and guitar join in toward the end. Short and sweet.
6. ** (5:08) - This is one of my favorites. Nothing like a new brit pop love song about misfits.
7. (3:22) When You're Fragile - Mid tempo, "I love you most when you're fragile."
8. (3:41) Marcy - This is like getting a brand new Kooks song, which I am not mad at.
9. ** (4:42) Howl - This one is my favorite. Love the instrumentation.
10. (4:51) Soapbox - Title track, brings back the upbeat pop-rock feel.
