electronic, synth/dreampop. female fronted with interesting up- and down-pitching of her voice to harmonize, big synths. recommend if you like flume, bjork.
1. watery echoing droplets, teenage synth pulses. adoring female vox with pitched-down counterpart beneath.
***2. quick elf keys, 80s soundtrack synths/drums, dubby baseline. more lovey-dovey lyrics with cool vocalizations in the last minute
3. fat bass drum and glockenspiel riff. feels nico-ish but with more percussion. her interplay between high, normal and low-pitched vocalizations works super well on this track.
4. rare shoe-gazey guitar moment on the album with some six-million dollar man drums. “the cold wind blows” the only discernible lyric.
5. danciest song on the album, house hi-hat track with snaps. cool harmonizing with herself begins at 3:10.
***6. simple riff and in-your-face 808s. worth it for the conclusion, over-the-top stadium drumkit and g-funk synth explosion.
***7. tight bloopy drums, surprising acoustic guitar, extra bjork-y vocals. rare moment of bitterness for the loving steffaloo. favorite track.
8. record static underlay. dub step womps, kinda off-putting with the rest of the song.
9. cheap arcade electronics, baby robot sighs. mostly forgettable.
10. ticking clock melancholy, return of the acoustic guitar and 808. cool hi-hat patterns in the last minute. her voice from afar, haunting.
***11. starts with a cool wall of static/synths. beat and found sounds feel nautical on this one. strange and overwhelming back-tracking around 2:30.
12. tiny hand claps, shakers, soaring synths. send-off feel, fits well as the last song of an album (or set).
