dark ambient with metallic male screams. album is held together by some really creative bass synthesizers. no FCCs that i could discern through the distortion. from malignant records.
recommended if you like prurient, the body.
1. pitched-down, anti-god monologue from 1993’s “bad boy bubby,” over slowly building strings, ooooo’s, and metal skitters. “the shining” vibes from violins (?) introduced in the second half. cool fade-out to distant shouting.
2. deep bass strings like a 100-foot cello with a surprisingly pleasant higher synth backgrounded. big crashing drums. harsh, male scream-ranting. possible FCCs, but very distorted. more horror movie violins in the second half.
**3. throbbing, sickly bass synth (my favorite individual sound on the album) with very distant scrapes. tinny shouts are more sporadic here than on other tracks. pretty much the same throughout, but really good.
4. lowwwww bass synths with higher ones bubbling over. crashing arena drums. distorted voice sounds like one half of a conversation. end is surprisingly soothing, blunt tone.
**5. analog-sounding bass, stretched out until you can hear the waveform. violins fade in, imperceptibly slow. same harsh male shouting. i really love the huge static crashes that start coming in at ~4:00. favorite track.
6. smoother, more forgiving bass, with an almost-dancy melody in the background. echoing male voice, spookier but less harsh than the voices on the other. less heavy than previous tracks.
7. doors opening and closing in a room with leaks and a broken air conditioner. a pitched-down monologue in french begins at ~2:30. screamed vocals and horror movie strings return at ~5:30. the first half is the calmest moment of the album.
