Wildly fun trumpet/bass/vocal duets. These guys are at the top of their game, a fact which is showcased beautifully. They must be amazing to see live. Their playful energy comes through with each track. They take the music seriously, but not themselves. Great stuff, every track worth a play (except 8 which is just an announcement in German). Watch for applause. Each track flows into the next if you care to play multiple tracks. Most of the vocal tracks sound hilarious, which makes me wish I spoke German as I have no idea what they’re saying. But it doesn’t matter, it’s fun nonetheless.
1. Bright and playful, almost cartoon-like. A silent bit in middle.
2. Muted trumpet, upbeat bass line, great interplays & solos.
3. Downtempo, then picks up. Nicely melodic & stylish.
4. Trumpet solo, German vocals. Mid/up and such fun.
5. Bright and fast w/funny falsetto vocals. So good!
6. Midtempo w/more playful vocals. The audience loves it (me too).
7. A bit of Latin spice, mostly midtempo. Great performances.
- 8. A spoken track in German. Sounds hilarious, but no music.
9. Trilling & midtempo w/a nod to Gershwin. Spare then upbeat.
10. Intro in German, then crazy atonal noodling. Much silliness. Short and confusing if you don’t speak German. Maybe skip this one.
11. Tight, sophisticated arrangement – mid/downtempo. So cool.
12. Swinging w/hip vocal duet. Again, silly & so good. Yum.
13. Epic 13-minute medley. Vocal intro then varying tempos and solid playing. Great stuff.
