PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND: That’s It! Legacy, 2013 NEW ORLEANS JAZZ – For most of its 50+ years, the PHJB has been a staid trad-jazz band full of old men playing the usual old repertoire in the usual old way, straight down the line. But nowadays the PHJB is a multi-generational octet aggressively trying to extend its boundaries. This album contains all-original music. It’s still totally within the tradition, but also bold and funky, fitting the contemporary N.O. scene. And it's FUN.
