Lars Moston: Two Hearts Label: No Brainer Records

This is a fabulous deep-house release by Lars Moston, Berlin-based Brit/German house producer & DJ. He has a funky disco-infused house style. He starts off with a classic phrase - "two hearts that beat as one" - and works it with rich synths and smooth basslines. The original (#1) is excellent but is surpassed with two delicious remixes by Purple Disco (#2) and Sona Vabos (#3). The two additional tracks "No" and "Feels Like Water" are funky groovers that would normally be winners on any other house EP. So if you like deep, sexy & funky house, please try any of these tracks. I will say, however, that the Sona Vabos remix (#3) is my favorite. Big thumbs up!!!

1) "Two Hearts" (6:03): The title track of this release is a nice deep-house track rich with synths and features a vocal snippet with the classic phrase "two hearts that beat as one". The melody is dramatic, as are the well-timed breaks.
2) "Two Hearts" (Purple Disco Machine Remix) (7:46): Excellent remix of the original that features dirty disco basslines, dramatic string layers, and a catchy little melodic loop. Great stuff.
3) "Two Hearts" (Sona Vabos Remix) (6:31): It's very rare that I hear a house track that brings me back to the heyday of deep house in the early 1990s. This is one of them - it uses all the elements in a classic way - synths, disco loops, claps, strings. Everything about this track is glorious.
4) "On" (6:03) - A fun & funky bouncy disco-fied house track. Super-groovy basslines!
5) "Feels Like Water" (6:07) - Another fun & funky house track that has great energy, cut-up vocal samples, and great basslines.
