Synth-pop with stellar songwriting. Dreamy and wry, cynical, a little sad. Easy to like on first listen and stands up to repeat plays. Future Bible Heroes=roughly 2/3rds Magnetic Fields + 1/3rd Chris Ewen, formerly of Figures on a Beach. This sounds like one of the better Magnetic Fields records. No FCC’s
+1. Smooth, sultry minor-key homage to having a drink. Short! F vocal
++2. Sweet wistful unrequited love long. Mid-slow. M vocal
3. Dreary. It might strike others as dreamy. F vocs
4. Dreary/dreamy- a bit better than previous track, expansive sound. M voc
+5. Happy disco (or at least, as happy as this band gets...) Synth is cheesy but it fits. F voc
+6. Love song, irony-free, with a country twang. Synth-country-pop? M voc
++7. Mid-tempo expansive 80's-sound. Simultaneously upbeat and deadpan. Synths get a little wacky at the bridge. F voc
