Your Imaginary Friend Reviewed 2013-07-27 | ||
Psyche rock darlings of Terrastock Festivals despite being a straight up rockin band that could’ve been plucked from a festival in the early 90’s opening for Nirvana. Guitar bass drums synths. Fans of Carlton Melton will like their more jammy, psyche instrumental tunes, and heavy rock folks will like their ability to simply rock out. But even the more “normal” songs always have an interesting guitar, a fuzzy bass, something to curl up to. Its like they are two bands. Rockin good stuff/killer space psyche. 1) (7:38) tribal head nodding swirling psyche synth, fuzz bass, noise guitar leads, vocals/lyric clearly legible betraying the whole stoner psyche realm 2) FCC 3) (1:54) straight up rocker 4) (3:01) more straight up rockin, instrumental, cool guitar leads and fuzzy bass 5) (6:39) standard head nodding rocker, kinda 70’s or something 6) (4:36) super cool mid paced brushed drum rocker, evolves into layers of subdued noise guitar etc 7) (3:51) straight up rocker, as in near butt-rock riff 8) (2:28) nirvana’esque rocker 9) (5:55) light flute, spacey dreamy pretty, instrumental, CAREUL: a good 12 seconds of dead air at end 10) (1:21) rocker, lower lip stuck out, head bobbing |
