No, it’s not the mobile sculptor; it’s an old band-mate of Mac DeMarco’s who makes the kind of warped, woozy, sunny, lo-fi pop we've come to rely on DeMarco and Captured Tracks for. It’s low-key, relaxing, slightly damaged stuff—perfect for summer. All songs are good and have the same sonic palette. Favorites: 1, 2, 4, 7. No FCCs detected. 1. *(2:46)—Slow, loping, wide-eyed. Reminds me of Deerhunter. 2. *(3:05)—Medium-fast verses, slower choruses. Idyllic, romping. 3. (3:42)—Medium-slow. Long intro. Tinny, searing guitars.
