Oren Ambarchi is familiar to KZSU for his experimental use of guitar, mostly creating epic ambient dreamscapes. But here he lends his guitar to a free jazz/experimental noise combo. The result is incredible, fantastic: All the searing badass-ness of prog masters Soft Machine with the dream/noise ambiance of a Sujo, the crazy meanderings of a Carlton Melton, the heady nirvana of Ornette Coleman high as hell. The first track dives into straight free-jazz improv. As the CD progresses the tunes veer into near-Krautrock, ending with a dark drone/plod that would make Sunn ((O))), Earth, or early Swans proud. Complex amazing stuff.

1) (18:10) improv noise jam: drums pounding, droning baritone sax, free jazz skronking
2) (23:24) driving looped feel , more sludge rocky, cool droned sustained keys, sax appears and starts smacking of Soft Machine, midway an EPIC bash out noise drone wall coalesces
3) (19:11) pensive dark brooding spy movie feel, cool drumming, slowly evolves into a veritable sci fi wonderland of sick tones
4) (7:54) beautiful dark plod
