Nous Non Plus - le sexe et la politique - pop/rock
4th album from a band wiki describes as faux-French by way of NYC. Songs are en francais. Plenty of guitars, drums, and bass and some less expected instruments too. Reminds me of
high school french class, puppy love, angst, simplicity. Not bad, overall, but not overly memorable. No FCCs detected (but a french-speaker may want to confirm that). Faves: 6, 7, 8

1: moto (3:26) Boppy little rock tune. Energetic and edge-less. Perfect for pogoing. M vox, some harmony.
2: stockholm (3:20) Heavy drums, staccato rhythm, a girl your parents maybe warned you about. F vox. Synth. Valley Girl outburst.
3: le menteur (4:32) Sentimental, a bit like the Motels. Perfect prom slow dance. M vox. Synth. Twangy guitar. Falsetto interspersions.
4: wanderlust (4:35) Mid-slow. Unoffensive verging on unmemorable, except for the Eagles-esque guitar break around 1:40. M vox. Bells. Organ.
5: nadia (3:24) Starts off quietly, singing punctuated with spare guitar strums, before ramping up into an almost torchy ballad. Reminds me of a song about a lonely teen who wondered why she alone could not find love. Ends with spoken word perhaps addressed to the eponymous, and presumably absent, Nadia. M vox.
6: pasolini (3:34) Quirky synth, bells, spoken word (en francais, bien sur). Song travels from spoken to sung, mid to slow, full to quiet, and back, and forth. F vox. M/F voices.
7: c'est vrai, bebe (3:04) Ironic lounge music. Retro 60s in a Cibo Matto way. I'm guessing it's about a man's attempts to seduce a woman who remains frustratingly out of reach. M/F vox.
8: allo allo (1:54) A bit ragtime, a bit Beatles. Cute M/F duet in Franglish. Hand claps, piano.
9: 1967 (2:39) Reminiscent of Motown in parts. Organ, horns.
10: yeye girl (3:56) Another sensitive ballad, almost J-pop in its cheesiness. Another prom slow dance, only this time the girl runs off before the song is over, leaving the boy heartbroken
and wondering. M vox. Sax.
11. unlisted bonus track (0:48) Slightly static-y recording of a man reading, maybe in italian. Perhaps this is the quote by Pier Paolo Pasolini that inspired the album.
