Take some Bauhaus, a little Cure and a lot of The Birthday Party, mix in occasional Spaghetti Western and surf and you’ll arrive at something like Slug Guts. The Birthday Party influence is apt, as they hail from Australia. This is their 3rd release w/ some great vibes. No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: 2, 3, 6, 7, 8.

1. (3:15) Mid / Fast. Big drums, screamed vcl, piercing gtr, Spag West.
2. *(3:16) Mid. Gothy surf, industrial, plodding, hypnotic.
3. *(2:39) Mid. Classic post-punk, a bit catchy and hypnotic.
4. (3:32) Mid. Demented slowed vcl, cool change halfway in, gets sparse
5. (3:14) Mid. Pil cover. Really hypnotic, big background beat, psychey.
6. *(3:29) Mid. Driving beat, more classic post-punk, gothy.
7. *(2:25) Mid / Fast. Heavy vibe, slashin’ and rockin’, cymbal strikes.
8. *(3:41) Mid. Title track. Steady rollin’ w/ big percussion, ethereal gtr.
9. (3:45) Mid. Plodding beat, industrial vibe, vcl whoops.
10. (3:08) Mid. Spag Western / post-rock vibe, steady rollin’.
11. (3:17) Mid. Hypnotic vibe, then gets a bit jazzy? rockin’? Cool.
12. (4:04) Slow / Mid. Mellower w/ slow gait, trancey vibe.
