Roman Stange & Craig Kuna: You'll House Me? Label: Handmade Recordings
Excellent chunky, punchy, meaty house music by Bay Area producers Roman Stange & Craig Kuna. I just recently got to befriend Roman and he's actually been around for a long time as a solid techno producer. I happen to know Craig and he is actually quite established as a techno guy. So it's really nice to hear a solidly mixed house release that has the funkiness of good house but also the punchy-ness of techno. And as the popularity of house in the SF Bay Area is unquestioned, this release is strongly influenced by their roots.
This is a nice single featuring:
#1) cut-up vocal samples (some legendary snippets from a historic house speech) and a punchy beat, with snappy snare drums.
#2) The Franklin De Costa remix is a bit sunnier with fluttering synths and more of an out-there tech-house flavor.
Good hard-hitting house by Craig & Roman! Try them both!
