Traditional music from Azerbaijan. Recommended if you like
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Rich, passionately soaring vocals plus traditional instruments such as the tar and gaval. Lots of strings and compositions that are varied and range from celebratory to sacred. Read the extensive notes for more information on artist & music.
*1. Instrumental intro vocals at about 2:30. A warm and labyrinthine
journey of various tempos. At 36 minutes long it’s quite complex yet accessable.
2. Solo instrumental mugham with two folk dances. Downtempo.
3. Slow trill of strings and powerfully emotive vocals.
*4. 22 minute long set of three pieces, mostly downtempo but picks up a bit towards end w/sweetly bouncing strings & percussion.
