V/A: +5411 Series Vol.1
Label: Unlock Recordings
This is a 4-artist EP featuring Jorge Savoretti, Solimano & Chucky De Ipola, Gurtz and Alain - all Brazilian electronic music producers who live in Buenos Aires. For the most part, the EP revolves around various flavors of house music, but the styles are all very different. The strongest track is 4 (Pianoroid by Alain), while 1 & 2 are more conventional jazz-influenced house but still good tracks.
1. Straight-up funky house, groovy bassline, a distorted but catchy female vocal with some little layered snippets here & there, fun and carefree attitude with a sweet jazz piano near the end
2. Funky house featuring some jazz improvisation of pianos & horns in the middle of the track that are fantastic. If it weren't for the jazz, this track would be ordinary. But with the various jazz influences, it's somehow got a cooler vibe.
3. House track that features a female R&B vocal chorus which keeps repeating over & over, which gets a bit tedious.
4. Stripped down thumpy tech-house beats, around midway a lovely piano-synth free-flowing jazz improv goes throughout the track in a warm and delightful way. Has a organic quality even while it's still slightly techy.
