“New primitive” meets space: instrumental guitar-based folk and a little bit of cosmic, experimental psych. Influential, local, and soft-spoken, DPG (Tarentel, The Drift, Moholy Nagy) is one of the sweetest, most genuine artists making music today. Dreamy, hypnotic, melodic, warm, stark, yet dense guitar-based compositions with some synths, tape loops, effects thrown in. Grody’s been focusing on the solo stuff for a while now, and this record, along with his recent performance opening for Grouper at The Hemlock confirms that he seems to have really found what he’s been digging for-- he’s taken it to a new level of blissful, gorgeous dreaminess. DPG is a huge friend of KZSU, as is Three Lobed, so give this some love. No FCCs.

1. Resonating Takoma school guitar warmth. (6:53)
2. Hypnotic Fahey bliss. (3:56)
3. Almost a raga, more new/old school guitar. (6:39)
*4. Soothing droney ambience. (4:20)
5. Slight psychedelic tilt and found sound feel. (6:21)
6. Piano-driven subtle and very relaxed. (4:20)
*7. Lengthy synth sweeping dreams. (10:15)
