This is lo-fi emo boringness. I can't decide which a better description is: overwhelmingly pretentious or painfully earnest. The singer's voice stand's out--­it's pretty high and wavers around a lot. The arrangements (pianos, organs, strings, harmonicas, horns, feedback, but mostly acoustic guitar) are actually pretty nice at times but get weighed down by weak lyrics and at times too whiny delivery. Good for one of those depressingly self-involved high school moods?­--in which case any track is as good as the other. FCC Clean.

1. I liked this until he opened his mouth. That's mean, but true.
2. Some wasted lap steel.
3. Goes for Conor Oberst like vocals here. More upbeat song with hand claps and all. Vocal bits of salesman and customer talking.
4. Reeks of melodrama. Some fey female vocals.
5. Narrative song, vocals end early but nice arrangements with strong cello presence. Quite listenable actually.
6. Indie kid laments galore.
7. About dealing with immigrant parents' expectations.
8. A little sparser but not any better. Reminds me of music that plays in super dramatic movies when characters reach a crossroads or something.
9. More references to songwriting, more indie kid "self-awareness".
10. I cringed when he whispered "there is someone" at the end. Song ends at 3:25 with random traffic noises until another song starts at 10:00.
