Dark novelty DIY Japanese rock. It's Cookie Monster's drunk father auditioning to front Joy Division after Ian Curtis' suicide... with sampled instruments and drum machine only, as far as I can tell. This is dark and heavy and whimsical and bizarre all at once. I like it. The guy is a serious poet but cannot pronounce English for shit... lots of this could be heard as FCC-violation material but little of it is (per the lyric sheet, anyway) and the few instances of "fucking" aren't intelligible as such. I suppose this could be scary if it wasn't so funny. Tokyo-based Kunihiro has a law degree from Hosei U. and has published cyberpunk novels and poetry. Start with 1, 4, 5.

Sorry to say... the CD has physical problems and doesn't play well. Not sure which tracks our Studio A CD players will have trouble with. Also, the track listing in Zookeeper is wrong (for now... I'll fix it).

=> 1. Mid-fast. FCC? I doubt it. Sound's like he's saying "weasel ain't shit" but the lyrics say "within him." Also sounds like he's saying "too mush rum" but it's "too much blood."
2. Lots of Ian Curtis phrasing plus falsetto cookie-monster singing. "Poetry boys saved my life!"
3. Mid-slow. Heavier than the other heavy songs here.
=> 4. Shuffle beat. "Hungry machine wants! Hungry machine screams!"
=> 5. Mid-slow. Easily mistaken for Joy Division.
6. FCC "fucking". Mid-fast. Political diatribe.
