(CLEAN) 08. Homeboy Sandman & Edan - #NeverUseTheInternetAgain - Stones Throw Records: [93 BPM] Its great to see Edan back on the scene. He has been rather quiet since the early 2000s and he still has that avant garde approach to using classic samples. Sandman rides the breakbeat style drums and the deep jazzy bassline while delivering the in an amusing way the message of how social media sites and technologies such as GPS and the internet have a unintended negative effect on your life. The songtitle is the hook and has a corny feel to it but it matches the overall tone of the track. The last minute of the track Edan flexes a little displaying the throwback splice gated edit techniques that groups like Mantronix and the Latin Rascals popularized in the 80’s. He also goes through the progression of the the overall production of the track more or less isolating each elemet as a small showcase of its ingredients. Dope cut . – M-SMOOTH
