Boxes For The Move

Named after the corner shops that feed New York, Bodega were one of the toasts of last spring’s SXSW music festival, and rightly so. Wedding ramshackle rant-punk to deadpan, slackerish tunes is a positively Jurassic move for a new band. But this five-piece nail the absurdity of contemporary life with that surprisingly evergreen formula. Their debut album, Endless Scroll is a diatribe against both consumerism and technology– the hold that both have taken on society, and how people can’t seem to escape them, despite them resulting in what the band considers to be injustices.
