Recorded in Cuba with a stellar cast of musicians; some of the music has an almost South African feel with great vocal harmonies; others sound very Cuban or African, even European; high quality fusion

NO FCC's; Favorite tracks 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 10—all tracks are good to play

*1—Baba Eluggua –2:00-- call and response, great voices; great harmony; great percussion

*2—Rumbero Como Yo –3:19 – intricate drumming; call and response

3—Anana Oye – 4:59 –starts quieter and slower with piano underneath; gets jazzier then slows at end

4--Caravana –3:17 – Navarrete's vocal take in Spanish on “Caravans” with percussions and piano underneath; starts sounding more like salsa than like Duke Ellington

*5—Drume Negrita –4:33-- sung more quietly and tenderly with some nice harmonica flourishes

*6-Namaste –3:25 –tablas and vocal percussion give an Indian feel; more vocal call and response; opens out into a great tapestry of sound

7—Taita Bilongo –3:42 – trumpet and rhythm give a more typically Cuban or Puerto Rican feel

*8 -Mulata Linda –3:44-- almost a capella with voice and percussion; catchy

9—Cachita --3:11--tuneful mambo

*10—A Ochun –4:58 – written by Navarrete and dedicated to the goddess of love; starts with call and response vocals; segues to piano and flute; pretty outro winds it up
