Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend

Giant, gigantic, ginormous epic dramatic DOOM, with atmospherics and Black Metal elements. Glacial pounding, minor chords, pretty pianos, slow low demonic vocals. For fans of Nadja and (fill in your favorite black doom bands name here). I mention Nadja again because they really have a unique way creating sonic layers that simultaneously lull and disturb. Soul crushing stuff, for sure. FCC clean because the vocals are indecipherable. Mostly all slow doom but goes double time machine gun fire drums and beats briefly at least once.

It appears that ALL TRACKS BLEND TOGETHER SO USE GOOD RADIO TECHNIQUE starting and stopping them, i.e. put on continuous, come out of previous and fade out when it goes to next, or pot up after hitting play.

1)* (10:14) 2:30 of beautiful atmospherics, then a soul crushing slow doom tumbles upon thee, replete with guttural cookie monster growls, huge full bar power chords, chills dramatically and roars back, COLD STOP -CAUTION PLAY ON CONTINUOUS as this blends into next with pretty piano, epic 2)* (10:15) careful as it catches the last chord of the previous it starts cold janky, give a second to fade in quickly (or play with previous), a continuation of sorts of the previous, huge drama, with a distant creepy voice, slow doom, just a big death spiral, guttural demonic vocals play forward 3) (13:32) reminder caution – comes out of previous jankily, see above – begins quietly but the crushing doom ensues as previous, angelic background vocals are subtle but arising, later on it goes double time machine gun fire black metal beats 4) (10:33) begins quiet, slow twangy guitar, relatively chill, with pretty piano and bass until 3 minutes in, then, well, you know… 5)* (10:40) another huge epic piece, a finale really, at 60 bpm cuz its matching my time counter
