Canadian-based Venezuelan singer/songwriter Eliana Cuevas uses a lot of Afro-Venezuelan rhythms on these catchy original tracks; Cuevas has a very pleasing and versatile voice that adds to her lyrics

NO FCC's; Favorite tracks: 1, 4, 6, 7, 8

*1—Alegria-- 3:55 – captivating beginning with pretty percussion and lovely vocals; light and upbeat

2 – Te Encontrare-1:25 – meditative with voice in the foreground and instruments in the background

3- Sere Libre – 5:33 – plaintive call to freedom overlaid on heavy Latin jazz texture of drums, horns, organ, etc.

*4 –El Manantial –3:51 – starts with serious drum solo; very African sounding; nice close harmony

5 – A Tear on the Ground –5:32-- sung mostly in English; written on a trip to India

*6 –Poderosa –4:39 – nice ukulele beginning to this breezy song; cool all instrumental horn bridge in the middle; has a kind of Cuban sound

**7 –Despierta: 4:44 – great percussion; nice playful voice quality along with horns

*8 –Nunca Jamais-4:11 – vocally reminiscent of Mercedes Sosa; dramatic and satisfying

9 –Mi Linda Maita --5:14 – written to honor Cuevas's grandmother with ukulele and horns

10 –No Se Puede –5:07 --”No se puede ignorar la verdad” “No se puede vivir sin sentir”
