ROCKABILLY / NOVELTY
A retro, good-times, bar-room act out of TN. Upbeat, fun & tongue-in-cheek humorous. Influences include Elvis, Jerry Lee, Bob Wills.
FIYL: Commander Cody, Stray Cats, etc.
No FCC issues.
Mid-tempo. Hillbilly lyrics; “Stray Cat Strut” melody & style. (2:35)
Mid-tempo. Faux country. Forelorn love. Male vocal harmony; pedal steel. (3:32)
Mid-fast. Goofy novelty song like “Monster Mash.” Bari sax, Theremin. (3:22)
* Mid-tempo. Texas swing tribute to Bob Wills. Fiddle, Hawaiian guitar, sax. Fun! (4:43)
Fast. Hot-roddin’ & avoiding the police, much like “Hot Rod Lincoln.” (3:01)
* Mid-tempo. Pretty, gentle, Glen Campbell-style love song. Male/female duet. (3:46)
Fast. Straight up rockabilly song about the family band. Good guitars. (3:06)
Mid-fast. Cowboy song style. Waiting on a train bringing his woman back home. (3:38)
Mid-fast. Not feeling too good. Twangy guitars, bari sax. (2:55)
* Mid-tempo. Late night drinking song. Good Dixieland clarinet & trumpet. (3:18)
Fast. Old-time rockabilly. Sounds like early Elvis. (2:50)
* Mid-fast. Sounds like “Margaritaville” complete with tropical-island vibe. (3:11)
* Mid-fast. Big Swing Era-style number with horns, backup singers, the works. (2:46)
* Fast. As #5, like Commander Cody. Hard luck. Good electric & steel gtr solos. (3:14)
Mid-fast. Love turned bad: his woman drinks too much & is evil. Steel guitar. (2:43)
Slow blues crawl; gets faster with each verse till very fast, as he drinks coffee. (3:18)
