Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2016-08-17
Guitar driven primarily instrumental rock with folk psych prog and post rock flavors. I had to check if this was some very old 70's artist making a comeback but it's contemporary hipsters, associated with No neck blues band, Brooklyn, etc. For fans of Black Sun Ensemble. Daniel Bachman. Dare I say The Dead(?!). They do a cover of the classic Turned To Stone (hence my aforementioned suspicion), bread and butter fare for any young rocker who cut his teeth in the 70's. Great stuff.

1)* (5:47) guitar driven with an eastern flavor, black sun ensemble, instrumental 2) (8:54) folk rock twang to this, dare I say the Dead or Allmans? but really nice, classic male vocals, super cool electronic experimental outtro belies any jam band blather 3)* (6:42) gorgeous solo guit intro picks up into epic pensive solo piece 4) (4:08) prog flavored jam 5) (4:06) organ to this, more of a post rock feel 6)* (7:47) killer cover of Turned To Stone, funky keys thru wah would make Sly or Stevie proud 7)* (5:17) experimental electronics and bass.
