The Earls of Leicester are Jerry Douglas’s band for straight-ahead traditional
bluegrass. Nothing newgrassy here – just virtuosity in their homage to vintage
50’s Flatt & Scruggs music.

1 – (2:46) The Train That Carried My Girl From Town* Decent mid version, OK.
2 – (2:49) Why Did You Wander? Fast love lament, hot picking here!
3 – (3:04) All I Want Is You* Slow, earnest love song, nice lead vocals.
4 – (0:10) Steel Guitar Blues Intro Leads right into track 5.
5 – (2:35) Steel Guitar Blues* Fine mid-up-tempo instrumental, excellent.
6 – (3:02) You Can Feel It In Your Soul* Terrific vocals on this mid gospel song.
7 – (2:48) A Faded Red Ribbon* Slow ¾ time weeper, great ensemble vocals.
8 – (2:14) Just Ain’t* Punchy mid-tempo love lament, fun.
9 – (3:33) Mother Prays Loud In Her Sleep* Slow, earnest, pretty funny, too.
10 – (3:00) I’m Working On A Road (To Glory Land)* Mid gospel ensemble, fine.
11 – (3:04) Will You Be Lonesome Too? Up-tempo classic bluegrass, so fine.
12 – (2:38) Flint Hill Special* Nice mid-up rendition of Scruggs instrumental.
13 – (2:44) What’s Good For You (Should Be Alright For Me)* Great mid-tempo
cheating song!
14 – (2:50) The Girl I Love Don’t Pay Me No Mind* Nice vocals, mid, title says all.
15 – (2:33) Branded Wherever I Go* Fine cover of Acuff prison weeper, mid ¾ time.
16 – (1:29) Buck Creek Gal* Fiddle & banjo duet, nicely done.
17 – (3:00) Pray For The Boys* Slower, beautiful patriotic song, nice.
